The ride is the easy part. The hard part is everything around it: walking a 900-pound touring bike backward out of a tight garage, getting it turned around, and putting it back when you're done.

Making that easier doesn't take more strength. It takes a better setup. Here's what makes the biggest difference.

Where the strain actually comes from

For most riders it isn't one big lift. It's the same four moments, every ride, all season.

Backing it out

Walking a heavy bike backward, often up a driveway slope, with your legs doing all the braking.

The ten-point turn

Squeezing the bike between the car, the workbench, and the mower, one push and pull at a time.

Standing it up

Rocking a leaning bike up off the kickstand before you can even move it.

Getting down low

Crouching and twisting to clean, check, or wrench on a bike that's leaning over.

Let's Roll Cruiser Dolly for heavy cruiser and touring motorcycles

Setup 1

Park the bike on a dolly, not the kickstand

This is the change that does the most. On the Let's Roll Cruiser Dolly, the bike sits upright on its frame with the tires off the ground. It isn't leaning, so there's nothing to stand up.

The dolly rolls on zero-scuff casters with built-in brakes. Instead of walking the bike through a turn, you push it sideways with one hand, lock the brakes, and walk away.

Cruiser Dolly: $415 · Rated for 1,100 lbs

Park it facing the door. Once the bike is on the dolly, spin it so the front wheel points out. You'll never have to back it out of the garage again. Just roll it off the dolly and ride.

Setup 2

Get it on the dolly by yourself

The jack has one job: getting the bike onto the dolly. You don't need a buddy or a ramp, and you're turning a handle instead of lifting.

  1. Lift the bike

Slide the jack under the frame and raise the bike.

  2. Roll the dolly under

Slide the dolly beneath the bike while it's up.

  3. Lower it onto the dolly

Lower the jack until the bike rests on the dolly. From here, you move it by hand.

Both Let's Roll jacks are built from USA steel, carry a lifetime warranty, and collapse to 3.85", so they fit under most lowered bikes. The only real question is how often you'll use it.

Setup 3

Work on a bike that isn't leaning

When the bike sits upright on the dolly, you're not reaching across a lean or bracing it with one hand while you work with the other. It stays steady on its frame.

Because it rolls, you can also bring the bike to the light and the tools instead of dragging your gear around the bike. Detailing, pulling a wheel, and on most bikes an oil change can all happen right there. We walk through that in how to change your motorcycle oil at home.

Setup 4

Get the gear off the floor

A clear floor is easier to move through, and there's less to step around while you're pushing a bike. When the dolly and jack aren't in use, the Wall Rack hangs them flat against the wall, along with the IMAP if you have one.

Riding an Indian or a Sportster?

Most Indian models work with the Indian Motorcycle Adapter Plate (IMAP), a $99 plate that sits between the jack and the frame. That includes the Chieftain, Roadmaster, Springfield, and Vintage, plus the Scout with the plate turned 180°. The Challenger and Pursuit work without it (see our Pursuit and Challenger guide). 2021 and newer Chief models are not compatible.

Harley Sportster owners need the IMAP too. If you're not sure, use the fitment checker on any product page or call us at 1-800-280-8860.

Common questions

Can one person get a heavy touring bike onto the dolly alone?

Yes. Slide the jack under the frame and raise the bike, roll the dolly underneath, then lower the jack so the bike rests on the dolly. You only use the jack for that step. After that, you move the bike by hand.

How much weight do the dolly and jack hold?

The Cruiser Dolly and both Let's Roll jacks are rated for 1,100 lbs.

Will the jack fit under a lowered bike?

Both jacks collapse to 3.85" and lift to 10.5". If you have at least 3.85" of clearance under the frame where the jack sits, it will fit.

Should I get the Standard Jack or the Apexx Jack?

Both have the same 1,100 lb capacity, 3.85" to 10.5" lift range, and lifetime warranty. The Standard Jack is built for occasional use. The Apexx Jack has a replaceable ball-bearing screw for frequent, heavy-duty use.

Does it work with Indian motorcycles?

The Chieftain, Roadmaster, Springfield, Vintage, and Scout work with the $99 IMAP adapter plate (the Scout uses the plate turned 180°). The Challenger and Pursuit work without it. 2021 and newer Chief models are not compatible.
