If you ride a Harley, you know the problem. Touring bikes and big cruisers are heavy, top-heavy, and a pain to push backward across a garage floor. So you start searching for the best motorcycle lift for Harley-Davidsons, and you find a hundred options that all look the same.

Here's the short answer from riders who've already figured it out: you don't just need something that lifts the bike. You need somewhere for the bike to live. That's what the Let's Roll Cruiser Dolly is built for.

What Harley Owners Actually Need From a Motorcycle Lift

Most people shopping for a motorcycle lift want two things: get the bike up, and keep it somewhere safe and out of the way. Those are two different jobs.

A motorcycle jack does the first job. It raises the bike. But a jack isn't where you want your Road Glide sitting for a week, a month, or all winter. It's one small contact point, it doesn't move, and the bike isn't going anywhere until you lower it again.

The Cruiser Dolly does the second job. Once the jack lifts the bike, you slide the dolly underneath, lower the bike onto it, and pull the jack out. Now the bike sits on a wide steel frame on four casters. You can roll it across the garage, turn it sideways against a wall, work on it, clean it, or park it for the season.

That's why the jack-and-dolly setup is what we'd call the best motorcycle lift for Harley-Davidsons. The jack's only job is getting the bike onto the dolly. The dolly is where the bike lives.

Why the Let's Roll Cruiser Dolly Is Built for Harley-Davidsons

The Cruiser Dolly was designed around heavy cruisers and touring bikes, the exact bikes that are hardest to move and store by hand. Here's what makes it different.

  • 1,100 lb capacity

Plenty of headroom for a fully dressed touring bike. The dolly itself only weighs 38 lbs, so it's easy to move and store when the bike's not on it.

  • The bike rests on the frame, not the kickstand

Your Harley sits upright on the frame with both tires off the ground and the weight off the suspension. No leaning, no kickstand stress.

  • No tie-downs

Industrial rubber on the crossbars grips the frame and keeps the bike planted. No straps to set up every time you park.

  • Zero-scuff™ casters with brakes

Original 4" urethane casters roll over concrete seams without getting hung up, and they won't mark up an epoxy or concrete floor. Two ball-bearing casters come with brakes already installed, so you can lock the bike in place.

  • No hydraulics

Nothing to leak, nothing to stain the floor, nothing to clean up.

  • Small footprint

At 35" x 18", the dolly lets you turn the bike sideways and push it into the back of the garage or up against a wall. That frees up floor space for a car, a second bike, or a workbench.

  • Made in Michigan

Built from US steel with a textured matte black powder coat, and backed by a lifetime warranty that it won't fail when used properly.

How It Works

The Cruiser Dolly needs a jack to get it under your bike. Here's the whole process:

  1. Put the jack under the bike's frame and raise it.
  2. Slide the Cruiser Dolly underneath while the bike is up.
  3. Lower the bike onto the dolly's rubber-padded crossbars and pull the jack out.
  4. Roll the bike wherever you want it, then lock the brakes.

Both the Let's Roll Standard Jack and the Let's Roll Apexx Jack are rated for 1,100 lbs and sit just 3.85" tall at rest, so they slide under most Harleys, including lowered bikes.

Will the Cruiser Dolly Fit Your Harley?

The Cruiser Dolly works especially well on Harley-Davidson Touring and Softail models, the heavy bikes it was designed around. That said, every bike is a little different, so measure before you order. Here's what to check:

  • 17" of clear frame between the wheels. The dolly needs direct contact with the frame, with no piping, cords, or parts hanging below it.
  • Kickstand mount on the outside of the frame. A mount on the inside can get in the way of the jack.
  • Frame height on the kickstand side. Measure from the bottom of the frame to the floor and compare it to the jack's 3.85" resting height.

What You Can Do With Your Harley on a Dolly

Store it in less space. Turn the bike sideways and push it against a wall or into a corner. Riders routinely fit a second bike, or a car, into space that used to hold one.

Winter storage. With the tires off the concrete and the weight off the suspension, the bike rests on its frame all season. Roll it next to an outlet, plug in the battery tender, and cover it.

Maintenance and detailing. Roll the bike into the light, spin it around to get at the other side, and lock the brakes. It's a lot easier than working around a bike leaning on its kickstand.

Pull out forward. Spin the bike around before you ride so you're heading straight out of the garage instead of backing a heavy bike down the driveway.

When the dolly's not in use, it's light enough to hang up. The Let's Roll Wall Rack ($139) holds the dolly and jack off the floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best motorcycle lift for Harley-Davidsons?

For most Harley owners, the best setup is a low-profile motorcycle jack paired with a rolling dolly. The jack raises the bike, and the Let's Roll Cruiser Dolly holds it upright on the frame so you can roll it, store it, and work on it. The Cruiser Dolly is rated for 1,100 lbs and was designed around heavy cruisers and touring bikes.

Does the Cruiser Dolly work on Harley Touring models?

The Cruiser Dolly works especially well on cruiser and touring motorcycles, including Harley Touring bikes. Before ordering, make sure your bike has 17" of clear frame between the wheels with nothing hanging below it, and that the kickstand mount is on the outside of the frame.

Do I need a jack to use the Cruiser Dolly?

Yes. The dolly needs a jack to lift the bike so the dolly can slide underneath. The Let's Roll Standard Jack and Apexx Jack both work with it, or you can buy the dolly and jack together in the Standard or Apexx Package.

How much weight can the Cruiser Dolly hold?

The Let's Roll Cruiser Dolly has a 1,100 lb capacity. The dolly itself weighs 38 lbs.

Do I need tie-downs to keep my Harley on the dolly?

No. The industrial rubber padding on the crossbars grips the frame and keeps the bike secure without straps or tie-downs.

Will the dolly damage my garage floor?

No. The Cruiser Dolly uses Let's Roll's original Zero-scuff™ 4" urethane casters, which protect epoxy and concrete floors. There's no hydraulic system, so there are no leaks or stains either.

Is the Cruiser Dolly made in the USA?

Yes. The Cruiser Dolly is made in Michigan from US steel and ships from the Detroit area.

Lift It. Roll It. Ride It.

The best motorcycle lift for Harley-Davidsons is the one that gets your bike up and gives it somewhere to live. The Cruiser Dolly does that, and it's made in Michigan by riders who needed the same thing.
