Indian Motorcycle Owners: There's a Better Way to Store Your Bike

TL;DR
  • Indian frames have a unique profile that requires an adapter to work with standard motorcycle dollies
  • The Let's Roll IMAP (Indian Motorcycle Adapter Plate) bridges that gap — made specifically for Indian owners
  • Works with most 2014–2024 Indian models including Chieftain, Springfield, Roadmaster, Vintage, and Scout
  • Challenger and Pursuit owners don't need the IMAP at all — the standard Let's Roll Lift works directly
  • Paired with the Cruiser Dolly, your Indian moves anywhere in the garage with one hand — no tie-downs, no kickstand stress

Indian Motorcycle riders are a particular bunch — and that's meant as a compliment. You didn't buy a Chieftain, a Roadmaster, or a Springfield because you wanted something generic. These are serious machines, and the people who own them tend to be serious about how they're taken care of.

So it's always a little surprising how many Indian owners are still storing their bikes on the kickstand, fighting to maneuver a 800-pound cruiser around the garage by hand, or leaving it parked in one spot all winter because moving it is more effort than it's worth.

The problem isn't the rider. It's that most motorcycle dollies weren't designed with Indian's frame geometry in mind — and trying to force a standard lift under an Indian is a good way to damage something expensive.

That's exactly why we built the IMAP.

Indian motorcycles deserve storage that matches the quality of the machine.

Why Indian Frames Are Different

Most cruiser and touring motorcycles have a frame that's reasonably straightforward to access from below. The Let's Roll Lift slides under the bike while it rests on the kickstand and contacts the frame directly — clean, solid contact with nothing in the way.

On many Indian models, the frame geometry and spacing don't line up the same way. The lift can't get a clean, flat contact point without an intermediary piece that bridges the gap correctly. Without it, you're either not making secure contact, or you're resting the lift against something it shouldn't be touching.

The IMAP — Indian Motorcycle Adapter Plate — solves this cleanly. It sits on top of the Let's Roll Lift and gives you the right contact surface for Indian's frame profile. Same industrial rubber grip, same stability, just fitted to work the way your bike is built.

Your Indian deserves a storage setup built for it — not a workaround.

Which Indian Models Does the IMAP Work With?

We've tested and confirmed compatibility across a wide range of Indian models. Here's a clear breakdown so you know exactly where you stand before ordering:

IMAP Compatibility — 2014 to 2024 Indian Models

Confirmed by Let's Roll. Always measure your undercarriage before ordering.

Works With IMAP

  • Indian Vintage (incl. Dark Horse)
  • Indian Chieftain (Dark Horse, Limited, Elite)
  • Indian Roadmaster (Dark Horse, Limited, Elite)
  • Indian Springfield (incl. Dark Horse)
  • Indian Scout *

Does Not Need / Won't Work

  • Challenger — No IMAP needed, standard lift works directly
  • Pursuit — No IMAP needed, standard lift works directly
  • New Chief Models (2021 & 2024) — Frame too wide, IMAP won't engage

* Scout owners: turn the IMAP 180 degrees to use. The smaller Scout frame requires a different orientation for correct fitment.

If you have a Challenger or Pursuit, good news — you can skip the IMAP and go straight to the standard Let's Roll Lift and Cruiser Dolly. Your frame geometry works with the lift directly, so there's nothing extra to order.

How the Setup Works

The full Indian storage system is the IMAP combined with the Let's Roll Lift and Cruiser Dolly. Once you have it, moving your Indian around the garage becomes genuinely effortless — we're talking one hand, full control, no starting the engine to reposition it.

1
Park your Indian on its kickstand

You don't need a center stand or any special starting position. Just park it the way you normally would.

2
Place the IMAP on top of the Let's Roll Lift

The IMAP sits on the lift's rubber surface and positions your contact point correctly for Indian's frame geometry.

3
Slide the lift under the frame from the opposite side of the kickstand

Make sure you have clear, direct contact with the frame — no pipes, cables, or accessories between the IMAP and the frame. Mark your alignment point on the first use so future lifts are quick.

4
Crank the lift to raise the bike just clear of the kickstand

Use a 7/8″ socket and ratchet, or a standard 18V drill (not an impact driver). You only need to raise the bike enough to clear the kickstand — a few inches.

5
Slide the Cruiser Dolly under from the kickstand side

With the bike lifted, the dolly slides in easily. Lower the bike down onto the dolly's industrial rubber crossbars.

6
Roll your Indian wherever you need it

The 4" Zero-scuff™ urethane wheels handle concrete seams and epoxy floors without marking. Built-in brakes on two casters lock it in place when you're done. No tie-downs needed — the industrial rubber holds the bike solid.

When your storage situation is sorted, you spend more time riding and less time wrestling your bike around the garage.

Why Indian Riders Love It

Indian motorcycles aren't small bikes. The Roadmaster and Chieftain run well over 800 pounds fully loaded, and even the Scout tips the scales at 500+ pounds. That's a lot of weight to be manhandling by pushing on the bars every time you need to access something else in the garage, pull the bike out for a detail, or position it differently for a winter cover.

On the dolly, that same bike moves with one hand. You can spin it sideways, push it into a corner to reclaim floor space, or line it straight up with your garage door for a clean pull-out — all without starting the engine or asking someone to help you balance it.

The tires are off the ground, so you're not putting flat spots into expensive rubber during long storage periods. The kickstand isn't taking any load, so you're not stressing the stand mount over months of sitting. And because the industrial rubber crossbars hold the frame without any tie-downs, there's nothing to scratch, scratch, or abrade your finish.

It's one of those products that Indian owners describe the same way every time: "I should have gotten this years ago."

What You Need to Order

If you're an Indian owner looking to set this up, here's exactly what to get:

Most Indian owners (Chieftain, Springfield, Roadmaster, Vintage, Scout): You'll need the IMAP plus either the Standard Package or Pro Package — which includes the Cruiser Dolly and your choice of lift. The IMAP adds only a small cost to the setup and makes the whole thing work correctly for your frame.

Challenger and Pursuit owners: Skip the IMAP. The standard Let's Roll Lift contacts your frame directly. Just grab the Standard or Pro Package and you're ready to go.

Not sure which lift is right for you? The main difference between the Standard and Pro Lift is that the Pro has a replaceable screw and bearing assembly — worth it if you're getting on and off the dolly frequently, or if you simply want the most durable version available.
